Tankmax was founded in 1997 by Jack Lacher in Spokane, Washington, Tankmax’s roots trace back to Tank Master, Inc., a DOT mobile cargo tank testing and inspection company that quickly expanded into full-service testing, inspection, and repair facilities in Spokane and Pasco, WA.

In 2006, Tank Master sold its assets to Polar Service Centers. Jack continued working in the industry for several years, gaining experience that would help shape the next chapter. In August of 2015, Jack Lacher and his wife Kelly Howard launched Tankmax Inc., returning the business to its original roots with a renewed vision.

Following Polar Service Centers’ exit from the Pasco location in 2016, Tankmax reinvested in the facility with an $800,000 remodel and moved back into the original site. Partnering with Pacific Truck Tank, Tankmax established a state-of-the-art DOT cargo tank testing, inspection, and repair facility. This being the only facility of its kind in the Inland Northwest.

Since then, Tankmax has continued to grow, becoming the Northwest dealer for Polar and Beall tank trailers, adding the Gardner Denver distributorship, opening a full-service driveline shop, establishing its Spokane headquarters, acquiring Western Pacific Products, and merging with sister company Pacific Meter & Equipment to better serve customers throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Today, Tankmax Inc. continues to grow and evolve. In recent years, we have expanded our footprint into Montana and Idaho, extending our full-service capabilities and local support to even more customers across the region.
